Potato Project
Documenting my six-year quest to eat my way through the world’s potatoes. There are more than 5,000 varieties of potatoes in the world. I’ve tried over 150 of them so far and I’m nowhere near finished. The project started after I learned that the International Potato Centre in Peru stores thousands of potato varieties to protect them from disease and disaster. I became fascinated by the fact that potatoes could be so wildly different, and started keeping a list of every variety I could find. Six years later, that list has become a collection of books, bingo cards and a whole lot of potato eating.
